I just couldnt afford to drop $70 every couple of months (or $140+ considering that the next expansion set, IIRC, had twice as many cards)

Good for a chuckle (if you get the reference), but Cyclopean Titan and Seasoned Weaponsmith play miserably and Golgari Death Swarm has no interesting mechanical designits just a Serra Angel in a color combination that can but never has gotten one

As such, its nice to see more options added and Skull Guardian, Protector of the Voiceless Voice is one of the best of the bunch

Serra the Benevolent is different, though shes secretly a [card]Serra Angel[/card] that comes with a free planeswalker

Surprisingly, this card was only about $25 in early 2024 but has since experienced a meteoric rise in value to its current market price
