Better yet, casting two or more non-creature spells (which you'll likely be doing already anyway) gives Lyse Hext double strike, meaning you'll be dealing double damage with any attacks on top of whatever effects come from the non-creature spells you've been casting (which, again, are cheaper thanks to Lyse Hext's signature ability)
They believe that if WotC went back on their word, it would damage the companys credibility and make people hesitant to invest in collectible Magic products
In fact, this was even stated in contracts with the artists going way back
Sometimes I'm guilty of second guessing myself with, "Is this design actually cool, or do we just think it's cool?" and Jeremy is always able to cut through that doubt to advocate for resonant designs and mechanics
What you pay into it, it goes away though
